Things to keep in mind when pursuing your dreams.
I'm not sure how or why, but, apparently, I have a blog. This is cool. Maybe I will make something cool out of it. I like words.
Here's an image I made with words in it:
This image basically means that if you have a desire in your heart, then don't let it remain just an idea. Go for it. Make it into a reality. That doesn't mean you have to make it into a living or a title... just make it a part of your life. Reach for it.
Here's a spoiler alert: stuff will get in the way.
Here's a spoiler alert: stuff will get in the way.
Does that mean that perhaps it is a sign? Perhaps you're not meant to pursue these dreams? No. It means that your dreams are a real, tangible thing. Your dreams are not fictionalized: they are as serious as brushing your teeth. And like reality, stuff happens and turns out differently than you imagined. So, you do a little cha-cha move, go with the flow, and work around the issue. Don't let it stop you. Heck, don't even let it get that far: don't let the inconvenience even bother you. Simply find a way to make your desires a part of your life, while you have to work life around to make that happen.
Here's another secret to success: work for yourself, not for notoriety.
If you're going about pursuing your dreams with the wrong intentions, then they will disappoint you. If you do the things you love, for the love of them, and you happen to share that with others, then you will be a successful person. You will avoid burning out; your love and skill will flourish. The other path just leads to failure and disappointment.
This will lead me to another similar, yet different point:
Let go of expectations.
Some people have a set goal in mind when they are pursuing their endeavors. That's great! Until life gets in the way, and your explicit goal holds you back or gets in the way. Then all you see is failure. However, if you don't have explicit expectations, but you have a general will in mind, then you're much more likely to see your goal flourish. Sometimes, you have to roll with the punches. However, other times, you have to move on and not let the punches change your course.
Be stubborn.
When all signs seems to be pointing against the direction you're trying to go, ignore it. Don't let it get in the way. In the end, only you can hold yourself back.
Be tactful.
The greatest truth is that nothing new is under the sun. With that in mind, how does your dream create something new? It can be new for someone else, or it can be new for you.
Be true to yourself.
Otherwise, you will find burn out before you know it. Find what makes you want to keep on inspiring others with your own endeavors, and you'll be one happy person. If you simply do work that others like, but it means nothing to your soul, then you will never be able to pursue your dreams.
This post transformed as I made it. In fact, I had no idea what I wanted to say... and then it became a sermon of sorts. That's fine. It's how I do art: I don't really know how it will turn out in the end, I just make the best of it. That's a great lesson for life.
